AGV and RGV, as a standardized mechanism,
facilitate automatic transportation of Cassette in TFT-LCD
production lines. These mechanisms, however, are not completely
installed all over the entire Fab operation; chances as a
result of timing and location mandate the readiness provided
by the flexibilities and versatilities of MGV. In most cases,
AGV, RGV lines and MGV consequently require Buffer Station
to facilitate a risk-free, efficient mechanism for Cassette
transportation to meet the versatile needs of processing stations
inside the TFT-LCD Fab.
The Buffer Station has two major functions, namely: Cassette
routing and short term hoarding.
1. Cassette Routing:
Among various processing lines, Cassette
routing provides modes such as:
AGV line→AGV line
AGV line→RGV line
AGV line→MGV
RGV line→MGV
2. Cassette hoarding:
Buffer Station hoards Cassette whenever
and wherever the production clog materialized. In between
process stations, it provides a buffer depot by stashing cassette
between stations in a time-of-need and risk free fashion. |
